ABOUT US

In March, she started out with a few pairs of earrings made with a glossy deadstock acetate found in a secondhand store. She sold them on Etsy, where interest surged almost immediately, so she got to work finding a major manufacturer to build her label.

Just seven months in, her collections have grown exponentially to include a variety of earrings in multiple shades of tortoise, from classic brown to unexpected mint green or “shell,” pale ivory. As for the styles, there’s the Clare, a giant yet shockingly lightweight disc; her most popular style, the Kate, a thick medium-size hoop; and a few pairs of square tortoise studs, among other shapes. Matchett also produces tortoiseshell hair accessories and has expanded into silver and gold stainless steel hoops too.
